Toowoomba Turf Club Chairman Jason Ward has announced two new changes to the 2024 Toowoomba Weetwood Carnival.

The first is that the Florence & Marabel Pink Ribbon Race Day is to be held at Clifford Park Racecourse on Saturday September 14th from 4pm, to help raise money and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). “This is the first time the event has been held in Toowoomba, and we couldn’t be more excited,” Mr Ward said.

“This is part of the Pink Ribbon Cup Race days that are already a staple of the September racing calendar on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts as well as Brisbane, and we can’t wait see how much Toowoomba and the Darling Downs can help with what is the biggest Community Fundraiser for the NBCF.”

The second big announcement is that after 9 years the Carnival has introduced Queensland business, 1Equine, as the new naming rights sponsor of the 2024 Toowoomba Weetwood Carnival. Managing Director of 1Equine Chris Essex was in attendance for the special announcement and stated, “It’s a huge thrill to be the new sponsor of the very famous and historic Weetwood Handicap.”
